What are actors head shots? madphoto.com

Photos taken in Madeleine's studio Santa Barbara Ca madphoto.com
Theater, film, and television Actors models, singers, and other entertainers often are required to include a head shot, along with their resume, when applying for a job. These head shots are usually more artistic, intended to portray the subject in the best possible light. They often have the subject facing off-centre. A performer will often have head shots expressing different poses and expressions to give a potential employer an idea of the subject's range of appearances or expressions. Those types of head shots are called "looks". However, this practice is less common in the current market. It is still common for an actor to have different head shots for their sitcom audition as opposed to their film audition, but for the most part these would represent a change in attire. The headshots that include a person’s shoulders are called "three quarter" shots
The main purpose of an actor's head shot is identification. Therefore the most important feature of an actor's headshot is that it looks like the subject. Actors' head shots should be clear; theatrical headshots are usually very "neutral" looking shots of the actor clearly showing his facial features.
Headshots are intended to show a person as they currently are (age, look, style, etc.) and reflect their best qualities. Therefore, if an actor's hair is recently cut or coloured, they might then need a new headshot to reflect the new image of themselves. Additionally, if an actor has a scar of the face or moles, it should be visible on the headshot and not digitally retouched out of the image. Pimples or spots are temporary and therefore these are usually retouched.

"What do we need to do, to get ready for our photos?"

Family photos

"What do we need to do, to get ready for our photos?"
To answer this question, you must decide on a few things.
A) Do I want my pictures indoors or outdoors
B) How many people are going to be in the picture?
C) Are we going to have the family pet in the picture?
D) Do we want to match, or should we all just wear nice clothes?
In my opinion, the last question is really the most important one. I feel that the family photos with matching  white shirts, or blue jeans with matching colored sweaters can be very nice. Some families go a totally different route, and just wear nice clothes for pictures.
I have found when photographing families, the most important thing for people to remember is, just look nice for pictures. Whether you're matching, or just dressing up, look nice.
Things to avoid before pictures:
A) Going out the night before
B) Getting a haircut too close to your picture date
C) Wearing something super trendy
D) Wearing patterns, that will obviously not be in style in 10 years
E) come well feed so no one gets moody during the photo shot
F) Tanning too much before pictures.

Dads in the Lime light

MadMa
Madeleine Vite of madphoto.com created all the photos below :

Our 234th Dad in the Limelight is Brian Chossek of Garlic Gold. I want to thank Brian for being a part of this series. It has been great getting connected with him and now sharing him with all of you.
1) Tell me about yourself, (as well as how you are in the limelight for my readers knowledge)
I’m a 36-year old social entrepreneur who bypassed Wall Street and other traditional MBA opportunities to help start businesses that make a difference.  I’m also the proud father of a 10-month old and proud participant in the life of my fiancee’s 17 and 21 year-old daughters.

Since 2003, I’ve served as President of Seven Oaks Farm, where we make and market break through, certified organic, consumer goods products including our Hand Crafted Gourmet food line, Garlic Gold.  In addition to my efforts at Seven Oaks, I serve on the Board of a variety of non-profits, including the World Business Academy, a 25-year old organization seeking to understand and clarify the role of business in society and create a vision of businesses being a vehicle for societal betterment and other lesser known, but equally important non-profits.  I dedicate a percentage of my time, on a pro-bono basis, to other entities and individuals working to make a difference.

Since as early as 2003, we were identified as a Top 20 Organic Company and subsequently profiled in the NY Times and other publications due to our track record of success, social mission and break through products.  Most recently, we’ve begun transforming the personal care and products industry with a break-through product, Aloe Cadabra, one of the first certified to new organic standards for body care products.  As a result, I’m frequently contacted by entrepreneurs and others to offer insights and expertise, a wonderful opportunity, but, another time commitment.
2) Tell me about your family
My fiancee and I have a beautiful blended family with our 10-month old baby boy, my fiancee’s amazing 17 and 21 year old daughters, and our “adopted Daughter,” Yomiko, who helps us care for Hudson.  Over the past few years, we’ve worked hard to get to know each other, welcome our 10-month old to the family and make sure everyone has the opportunity to follow their own path’s and dreams.
3) What has been the largest challenge you have had in being a father?
Patience and time.  In a small growing company where I wear many hats and a new, growing family, time is always short and things needing attention, long.  Each person in our family deserves time, energy and attention, as does the company and the people we’re blessed to have work for us.  Having the patience to provide that time in a caring and compassionate way, when pulled in many directions, and having the discipline to focus on the most important things, whether at home or the office, are the greatest challenges I face.
4) What advice would you give to other fathers?
Trust yourself and your ability to handle more things than you’ve ever imagined: You have the ability to rise to the occasion when it presents itself!
Flow with and embrace the responsibilities, opportunities and new things you face ; and
Remember to say thank you and share your affection for those that are most important to you.  They are your support system!
5) Seeing that you (or your position) are in the limelight, how have you come to balance parenthood and outside life? If you are currently not in the limelight per se, please still answer this in regards to how you balance parenthood and outside life.
The most important things for me are to identify the most important things that require ME, surrounding myself with good people and delegating those things that don’t require me, making a conscious effort every day to remind myself of what’s most important to me and being willing to let go of perfection and the desire to do “everything.”
6) What have you learned from the fathers that you have interacted with?
That your life will never be, “normal,” again.  Expect and embrace the unexpected.  It only (often) comes around once.  Don’t miss the big moments with your family.  Big moments at the office will come around again.  And, try to maintain your compassion and empathy for those around you, even in the midst of the most challenging, busy times.
7) What else would you share regarding your experiences as a father thus far?
It’s the most amazing experience I’ve had and caused me to grow more than I ever have in a short period of time.
8) What have been the most memorable experiences that you have had thus far as a parent?
Watching our family come together – 17-year old and 21-year old embracing their new younger brother.  The rush of emotion and elation that comes from watching your children experience joy and the return of the sense of wonder that comes from watching a baby experience things for the first time.

If you have any questions for Brian, please leave a comment here and I will make sure that he gets them so that he may be able to respond!
Also, do you know a Dad in the Limelight? If so, please email me their contact information so that they too can be a part of this series!

Karen Smith Bogart :”
“I have been very fortunate to work with many talented professional photographers across the world. Madeleine Vite is an extraordinary photographer. She blends an exceptional photographic “eye” and talents with creativity, risk, and a fresh passionate “edge”. She uniquely combines a photojournalistic style with fantasy, fun and aspiration. She makes all people beautiful in her images. Due to her inspiration, creative insights, warmth and talent, her subjects reveal their energy, emotions and inner confidence.

I asked Madeleine to shoot my wedding a year ago. She did a brilliant job. We had so many stunning images of everyone present during our special weekend to choose from for albums and gifts. Our guests were thrilled with her images. Additionally, Madeleine was delightful in her interactions with us, our families and friends before and during the events.

Madeleine has also done some photo work for one of my businesses. She was creative, flexible, efficient and produced beautiful results.

Madeleine Vite is wonderful. I heartedly recommend her. She is amazing!

 Donna Greene
“Madeleine did a photo shoot for me a few days ago. I was *extremely* pleased with the results. She was fabulous to work with, had great ideas, and the results were beyond my expectations (which were already high, having looked over her body of work). She had researched what I do, how to best convey that to my audience, and come up with original ideas for the execution of those ideas. I was thrilled with the results!!”
Dr. Lynn K. Jones

Barb Beainy
“Simply put Madeleine is AMAZING! Madeleine photographed our wedding 4 years ago and we could not have been happier. To this day our friends and family cherish the photo's she took on our very special wedding day. She is such an extraordinary talent and a wonderful person to work with. I just recently hired Madeleine (again) to take pregnancy photo's for us. We were in absolute awe when we saw the final results! I never thought I would feel beautiful at 8 months pregnant, but some how Madeleine not only made me look beautiful in the photo's but also made me feel comfortable and beautiful taking the photo's. We will continue to use Madeleine for ALL of the important events that take place in our lives and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a creative, kind, and inspirational photographer. Once again, she is the best!”

Christina Manos Bocek
From the moment we met her, we were amazed and compelled by Madeleine's work. She knows so much about photography that she is almost blase about her depth of knowledge! She went out of her way to visit our wedding and reception sites to gauge the lighting in advance of our wedding, and to scout out the best "photo op" places for us. Everything she did to prepare shows: our wedding photos are the most gorgeous wedding photos I have ever seen. And, even more important to a bride, Dan and I both look gorgeous in every single shot. Madeleine makes you look as beautiful as you dream of looking. She is worth every penny of her fee, and I would hire her again in the thump of a NY heartbeat. She's that good.”
